Each class used the pupils' kitchen to bake pancakes on Tuesday for pancake Tuesday. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all. The boys had fun flipping pancakes during the baking lessons also, testing our throwing and catching skills. They then chose their favourite topping and enjoyed their delicious treats.

Pupils in 2nd and 3rd class carried out a variety of science investigations to explore how sound moves and sound energy. Below, pupils were investigating how sound moves in vibrations through the air. You can see the pumpkin seeds 'dancing' on the cling film, proving that the air molecules around the speaker are vibrating, allowing the sound to travel sround the room.
The boys in 2nd and 3rd class have been learning about sound energy in science. Pupils learned how sound travels and then investigated the movement of sound through a solid by creating 'sound telephones'.
2nd and 3rd class completed a maths trail in and around the school this week. It took place over two days and involved practical, hands-on maths activities. Pupils engaged in measuring and estimating activities, searching and planning activities, exploring and drawing tasks also. Pupils worked in small groups and each group had specific roles, e.g. the writer.
The 6th class boys and 2nd and 3rd class boys are engaging in peer reading every Friday for this Spring term. We are really enjoying reading to one another, listening to stories being read aloud, supporting one another and getting to know each other also.
