Our school recieves a national award for our work in Mental Health and Wellbeing!

Just before the Easter holidays started, we received word that our school had been shortlisted for the Mission Possible award, inviting us to the award ceremony in St. Patrick's University Hospital in Dublin. The first Tuesday after the Easter break, four pupils (Aaron, Shane, Maurice and Karolis), Ms. Reilly and Mrs. Little  made the journey to the ceremony.

It is so wonderful to see and hear the effect that winning this award has had on not only the pupils and staff in our school but in our local and wider community as well.   The conversation of Mental Health has really opened up in the last few weeks. The response to the news has been phenomenal and thank you to everyone who has taken the time out to get in contact in any way at all!

Mental Health isn't always about talking when you have a problem or a worry. It takes practice to learn how to talk about it. It is something that we have to become confident about.

So I just want to say a huge well done to everyone involved (Principal, teachers, SNA's, our secretary, Sharon McGovern our wonderful and talented yoga instructor, and of course, each and every one of the pupils at St. Marys' BNS, parents and BOM) and a big, big thank you!!
It only takes a smile, a kind word or showing interest in someone to turn their day, or life, around! You can do it!!

Keep going :)
