This month 3rd & 4th have been learning all about the Normans and we took a trip to the townhall to see the 'motte and bailey' model constructed by the Men's Shed, Belturbet. Thank you to Mrs. Browne and her father, Tony, for helping to organise this trip.
SCIENCE WEEK
3rd and 4th class made their very own pulleys! Check out the videos below to see them in action! Well done boys!
As part of our Science week celebrations, we were lucky to have Benny Joyce, a marine scientist, visit our school and spoke to the boys about marine science and ecology. Thank you to Cavan County Library for organising this talk as part of the Cavan Monaghan Science Festival.
Thank you Ms. Breiden for making chocolate chip cookies with the boys! They were delicious!
The boys are so lucky to have coach Shaun Doherty every week to develop their fitness and GAA skills. Thank you very much to the Rories for funding this.
The boys are also enjoying a four week GAA skills course with Karen from Cavan GAA County Board and a six week basketball course with Elaine from Cavan Sports Partnership!

3rd & 4th class studied their own fingerprints and determined which fingerprint pattern they had - loop/whorl/arch. We then conducted a class survey on fingerprint patterns and found that 13 had the ‘loop’ pattern, 10 had the ‘whorl’ pattern and 7 had the ‘arch’ pattern.
